Penn State Editorial
The NCAA rendered their decision against Penn State University today which included: 60 million dollar fine, four year bowl ban, a reduction in scholarships, and the right for the NCAA to come back in and investigate the program.
I totally disagree with the penalty handed down if USC, SMU, Ohio State, and countles other schools receive pretty much the same bans but not the money forfeiture how is this stopping sports from overshadowing the integrity of a major University. There was a cover up of child abuse involving innocent children who were looking for a father figure to help them with their lives and this is equal to boosters paying kids to play for a school or athletes who sold their own property for money oh and the kids who were given plane tickets or meals by people outside the program. I think the message is clear slap on the wrist but football powerhouse you keep making money and just make sure you don't allow pedophiles on your staff anymore or else.
Children no matter what background they come from should be protected by Adults especially those in education who know what can happen when a child is abused by someone they trust and how this will affect their self esteem going forward.
NCAA you get an F for this one but what else is knew you dropped the ball in the end zone on the regular I really hope you never forget you had the chance to send a clear message and you didn't.....
This is just my opinion who the hell am I well a concerned adult and advocate for every child having the best childhood they can despite the environment they grow up in.
